We are a “Full Uniform” troop, meaning we require each member to wear the official Boy Scout uniform (shirt, pants, belt, and socks).

Troop 513 is one of the oldest troops in the area. We have a proud tradition going back to 1972.
We have hundreds of alumni including more than 100 Eagle Scouts.
Well-rounded program emphasizing the patrol method, youth leadership, teamwork, community service, learning skills, gaining self-confidence and personal growth.

Troop Summer Camp is a week-long camp held at a BSA camp with nationally certified program and facilities.
Optional out of state camps are held every few years.
Older scouts (14+ year-olds) can participate in exciting trips to High Adventure bases such as Philmont and Sea Base.
Troop trips are held every few years based on interest.

For high school age, the troop offers dual registration in co-ed Venturing Crew 513.
Adopt-a-Street litter pickup (Spring & Fall), school and community service projects, Scouting for Food, Eagle Scout Service Projects and others.
Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) and Patrol Leaders elected by scouts for six-month terms. Other positions appointed by the SPL. Youth Leadership Training held twice a year. Troop provides scholarships to send several scouts to advanced training (NYLT).
Troop has extensive set of camping equipment. Scouts supply their own personal gear including backpack, sleeping bag and 2-person tent.
Troop earns the gold level Journey to Excellence Award every year. Troop earns top troop awards at summer camp and district camporees.

BSA registration fee is $125 per year
Additional $25 fee for first time BSA members
Activity fees are pay-as-you-go (typical campout is $30 including food and transportation)

Several fundraising opportunities are offered for Scouts to “earn their way”.
Troop 513 holds a Luminaria fundraiser in December that benefits the troop as a whole.
